Volvo Models Named Top Safety Picks

Volvo automobiles are a lot of things—attractive, reliable, technologically-advanced—but one of the features that today's customers in Indianapolis, IN seem to place very high on their lists of must-haves is safety. The more we learn about the nature of cars and how prevalent distracted driving has become, safety is more important now than it ever has been. Thankfully, the technology continues to get better, and new and pre-owned Volvo models are fully equipped with the best features. Perhaps that's why the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety continues to name Volvo models some of the safest in the industry.

More specifically, five Volvo models were named either an IIHS Top Safety Pick or an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ for the 2017 model year, which means that they earned top marks of "Good" on all five of the institute's crash tests and also provided some sort of frontal collision prevention. The truly elite models, those pegged with the TSP+ distinction, also must earn top marks on headlight tests, which look for strong visibility and proper functionality.

This year's IIHS TSP models include the 2017 Volvo S90 and the 2017 Volvo XC90, while IIHS TSP+ models include the 2017 Volvo S60, the 2017 Volvo V60, and the 2017 Volvo XC60. Every single one of these aced crash tests which gives Tom Wood Volvo customers a great glimpse into how well protected they may be in the event of an accident.
